Chair Transformation
I have had this old chair for a few years now. It is pretty tatty and made from some quiet knotty pine but that was not the worst thing about it. What really meant I never used it was how uncomfortable it was. That woven seat would give me a numb bum.
Because of all these things I never used it as a chair and more of just a place to dump things. I decided it was time to do something about it. As it was both ugly and uncomfortable it needed a total transformation. I decided to have a bit of fun with it, try my hand at some up-cycling and turn it into a badger chair.
I got the old seat removed and sanded of all the old varnish that was on it. I had some Matt Black paint, this is the same stuff that is used to make chalk boards. With two coats of this applied and it was looking completely different.
I made a new seat pad for it then upholstered it with this great badger print fabric I found.
I was really pleased with how it turned out. It went from an ugly, mass produced chair that was uncomfortable to something unique and a joy to sit on.
